Design problem

Here's the curly lamp, a product I designed in 2009 and produced until recently. The lamps were pretty popular, but I stopped producing them because the supplier of the recycled plastic shell was a pain in the keester. Life is too short.

Now I'm stuck with about 300 of these socket sets. I'm thinking about designing a new lamp: must be easy to make, must look cool, AND must use up these sockets! Stay tuned.

  1. I'm really fascinated by stuff made out of garbage. Maybe you could find some kind of cool garbage to turn into lamps?

  2. Funny you should mention that... I thought about using crumpled newspaper or packing paper for a shade. Looks cool but hard to make it nice. I also have a lot of scrap felt that would be great to use up, but it's not idea for a lampshade.
