Temporary bowl

This week I made a complete prototype of the new bowl, which I am now calling the Temporary Bowl. It came out great!

Cut a 24" diam. piece of felt, marked 48 dots for the snaps using a simple template. 24 is evenly divisible by a lot of numbers, allowing flexibility.

I am trying open prong ring snaps this time... there are a few other possibilities I'm going to try out.

Installed the snaps by hand. Big pain in the ass. When the piece is produced it will be assembled using a snap press at the sewing company.

Random snapping.

Next step is to investigate other types of snaps, and another material for the bowl. Possible food-safe silicone?
