I've been needing a new wallet for quite a while and recently bought the wallet at left from Jack Spade online. It came the other day and it's craaazy thick. And it's also kind of conservative. I guess I'm going to have to design and make one myself.
This could be a good project for the laser cutter: it will allow me to cut interesting shapes out of a variety of materials without having to pay for tooling for die cutting. Also, the heat of the laser will seal the edges of RPET fabric, which otherwise would have to have a finished edge. It seems that finished edges add to the thickness of most wallets as well as sort of putting a cap on the design, if that makes any sense.
